Triton JV hoops coach named Connell's successor Wed, 18 Jun 2008 02:35:00 EDT BYFIELD — For the first time during Triton athletic director David Dempsey's one-year tenure, the school replaced an incumbent coach yesterday by hiring from within the affected sports program. Dempsey named former junior-varsity boys basketball coach Ryan Souliotis as the head coach of the varsity team for the 2008-2009 season. Souliotis succeeds Tim Connell, who held the head-coaching position for the past seven years. Souliotis, 24, captained the Triton basketball team as a senior in 2001-2002 before attending Bates College. Upon his graduation from Bates, he served as the freshman coach at Ipswich High for one year before spending another as the JV coach at Triton. |
