CSMP doesn't support marijuana legislation Sunday April 27, 2008 I find it unfortunate that the newspaper chose to publish a story about the initiative being proposed by the Committee for Sensible Marijuana Policy, but never reached out to the proponents and was incorrect on our efforts ("Marijuana foes see through smoke screen," Telegram & Gazette, April 11).
Mainstream media coverage is skewed Sunday April 27, 2008 Recent coverage in the establishment media of the Iraqi government crackdown on Shiite militias in Basra and in Shiite neighborhoods in Baghdad exemplifies the deplorable reporting, driven by preconceptions of quagmire and endless sectarian strife, of developments on the battlefield and its attempt to shape public opinion on the war in Iraq.
AAS holding fuzzy end of lollipop Sunday April 27, 2008 It's hard to see the proposed solution to the ongoing dispute between the American Antiquarian Society and the Montvale Historic District as a compromise (Telegram & Gazette, April 16). Patrick and top legislative leaders have embraced the state biofuels task force's recommendations to adopt low carbon standards for fuels. Particularly welcome is the task force's rejection, based on the latest scientific analysis, of corn- and soy-based ethanol in favor of development of "advanced biofuels" derived from nonfood sources.
