| Letters to the editor Thu, 15 May 2008 05:56:00 EDT Rep. L'Italien took the lead To the editor: It takes a lot of courage to advocate for what is right, and one thing state Rep. Barbara L'Italien has is a lot of courage. Rep. L'Italien is a strong, determined and thoughtful advocate for her constituents, particularly elders and disabled children and adults. Her passion for people in need stems from both personal and professional experience. Barbara's passion is guided by a realistic vision; her advocacy for good, solid programs for folks in need is done with a commitment to using public dollars efficiently. Recently, I could not have been more proud of our legislator when Rep. L'Italien took the lead in authoring an amendment that reflected this vision. While it was met with a round of applause from elder advocates like me from across the state, it was not well received by nursing home lobbyists. |
